3 Days Murchison Falls National Park Safari
Tour Summary
This 3 Day safari will take you to Uganda’s largest park known as Murchison Falls National Park, situated in Northwestern Uganda on an area of 3,840 sq km, gazetted in 1926 as a game reserve. It is characterized with Savannah grasslands and the Victoria Nile that flows through separating it into two (the northern and southern bank). Murchison Falls is home to over 451 bird species such as the Great blue Tura co, Goliath heron, the Shoebill, and the dwarf kingfisher among others, 76 mammal species, a big number of Nile crocodiles and above all the magnificent and thunderous Murchison Falls squeezing their way through a gorge that is 8m wide. All said, you will have an opportunity to enjoy both our safari game drives and the boat cruises along the Nile River.
Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park
One the first day, you are picked by a representative of IvaMar Safaris from either Entebbe airport or your accommodation in Kampala. You are driven towards Karuma, with a brief stop-over at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary in Nakasongora district. Lunch is served at any of the several stop-overs on the road. You will arrive at the Pakuba Lodge in the evening for dinner and accommodation.
Day 2: Safari Drive in Murshison Falls National Park
After having breakfast, you are taken on a game drive in the northern part of the national park in search of lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, hartebeests, oribis, Uganda kobs, buffaloes and several bird species. Our trained guides will help you on this safari drive. Lunch is then served at Paraa safari lodge. After lunch, you are taken on a three hours boat ride on the Nile River to the bottom of falls where you will have the opportunity to view Animals like; hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, buffaloes and elephants on the river banks. You will also have an opportunity to see the falls in the evening before returning to the lodge for dinner and accommodation.
