6 Days Kenya Safari
Tour Summary
This safari will take you to Africa’s 4th largest city, Nairobi and later Amboseli National Park which is dominated by the snow cap of Mount Kilimanjaro, open plains, acacia woodland and swamps. You will be transferred to Lake Nakuru national park well know for many bird species, black and white rhino species, warthogs, lions, zebras, giraffe and many more. This safari will end the Masai Mara well known for large prides of lions, elephants and giraffes in grasslands, gazelles and eland.
Day 1: Arrival, Nairobi City
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be received by our representative and transferred to Inter Continental Hotel Nairobi. You may want to take a tour of Africa’s 4th largest city, Nairobi. You may be interested in the café culture, unbridled nightlife, the National Museum, the Karen Blixen Museum and most notably just 20 minutes from the city centre wild lions and buffalo roam in the world’s only urban game reserve. You may also be interested in visiting the Parliament buildings, Kenyatta International Convention Centre, Nairobi National Park, Museum Hill and the Elephant Orphanage. overnight accommodation at InterContinental Hotel Nairobi (BB).
Day 2: Amboseli National Park
You will be transferred to Amboseli National Park. Amboseli is dominated by the snow cap of Mount Kilimanjaro, open plains, acacia woodland and swamps. Renowned for its excellent Masaai giraffe, elephant, lion and cheetah viewing and not surprisingly it is one of Kenya most popular parks. The birding is excellent especially near the lakes and swamps.
Afternoon shall be spent on game viewing drives in search of elephant, cheetah, lion and other plains game. Nestled in 190 acres of wooded Masai land, the lodge sits on the foot hills of Africa’s highest mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro. Surrounded by a variety of trees, plants and wildlife, Amboseli Sopa Lodge is a superb destination away from city life (FB).
Day 3: Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park was created to protect the Lake and its flocks of Lesser Flamingo which are drawn to the algae that flourishes in the saline waters of the soda lake. The national park is home to hippos, black and white rhino, Rothschild giraffe, buffalo and eland.
Early morning game and scenery viewing drive. Later proceed to the Lake Nakuru National park with a descent to the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Arrive at the Lake Nakuru National park in the mid – afternoon
Lake Nakuru national park is the smallest in the class A category Kenya national parks. Bird life abounds with flamingos in their thousands together with pelicans and other bird species. The lake hosts the black and white rhino species, warthogs, lions, zebras, giraffe and many more.
Sarova Lion Hill Game Lodge is nestled along the Lion Hill overlooking the spectacular flamingo pink rimmed Lake Nakuru. Its location affords panoramic views of the lake and the picturesque Lake Nakuru National Park. Day 4: Masai Mara National Reserve
The Masai Mara together with Tanzania’s Serengeti form Africa’s most famous wildlife park. The annual wildebeest migration through the Serengeti and the Masai Mara is the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet – with more than a million animals following the rains. The national park is well known for large prides of lions, elephants and giraffes in grasslands, gazelles and eland.
Hammerkop Migration Camp, Maasai Mara is located on the banks of the Mara River just minutes from the main wildebeest crossing points. Hammerkop Migration is a semi-permanent traditional tented safari camp with a total of just 7 tents, making it a very private atmosphere with personalized service. Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve
You will be taken on a game drive to Masai Mara Game reserve. The Mara remains the most exciting wildlife eco-system in the Natural world. It is host to the highest and most varied concentration of wild animals than any other wildlife park in the region.
The scenic appeal of the tree studded savannah plains, the moderate climate and diversity of wild game species makes it a one stop shop for game viewing activities. You will traverse the Masai Mara reserve on a full day of unlimited game viewing encountering the big five and more of the lesser game. Picnic lunch shall be by the Mara river as we watch hippos & crocodiles. Overnight accommodation at Hammerkop Migration Camp (FB).
